Trial Officially Set — Preparing the Case for Trial

  • 2 Weeks

About

Once a trial is scheduled, effective preparation becomes critical. This course provides a step-by-step guide to preparing a family law case for trial from the receipt of the Trial Notice through the eve of trial. Participants will learn how to conduct a final case review, update trial documents, evaluate whether additional discovery or supplementation is needed, prepare witnesses for testimony, organize trial exhibits, issue subpoenas, obtain Affidavits of Authenticity, and assemble a comprehensive trial notebook. The course also covers preparing clients for trial, coordinating expert and lay witnesses, and completing a final trial readiness review to ensure nothing is overlooked. Participants will receive practical templates, including a Sample Trial Notice, client trial preparation email, Exhibit-Witness Chart, witness and document subpoenas, cover letter to subpoenaed witnesses, Affidavit of Authenticity, Trial Notebook Index, and Trial Readiness Checklist. Digital, editable versions of all forms used in this Class are included with your registration — actionable templates your team can implement immediately to streamline drafting, reduce errors, and reinforce what they’ve learned. ________________________ Want to take it a step further?
