Built by Seeing a Need and Filling It

Family Law Solutions has never grown from a traditional business plan. It has grown by identifying what family law professionals and firms need, then creating practical solutions to meet those needs.

2014: From Private Practice to Consulting

​

In 2014, I left private practice to pursue consulting and contract work with family law firms. What began with a handful of projects quickly grew. Within just a few years, approximately 15 firms were relying on me for regular contract paralegal services and specialized family law support.

​

As that demand increased, I realized I had reached a crossroads. I could continue doing the work for everyone, or I could begin teaching other legal professionals how to do the work themselves.

2017: The First Family Law Bootcamp

​

That realization led to the creation of the original Family Law Bootcamp in 2017.  I often describe it as the point when I realized I needed to stop “fishing” for everyone and start teaching others how to fish for themselves.

​

The goal was to take the practical family law knowledge I had developed through years of hands-on experience and teach attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants how to actually manage the work themselves.

​

That single Bootcamp eventually grew into the Family Law Bootcamp Series, with four comprehensive programs covering the entire trajectory of a family law case, from foundational case management through discovery, financials, and trial preparation.

​

Training became an increasingly important part of Family Law Solutions. I began offering classes twice each month at venues throughout the Atlanta area, giving family law professionals more opportunities to develop practical skills outside of the traditional on-the-job learning model.

2020: Training Moves Online

​

When COVID changed the way we all worked and learned, Family Law Solutions training moved online.

​

Family law did not stop during the pandemic, and the professionals serving Georgia families still needed practical training and support. Moving online made it possible to continue providing that training while also expanding the reach of Family Law Solutions beyond a particular classroom, venue, or training date.

​

It also opened the door to something bigger. Training no longer had to exist only as a live event. It could become an ongoing resource that professionals could return to as their needs changed and their experience grew.

2024: Family Law Fridays

​

By 2024, the training side of Family Law Solutions had expanded well beyond the original Bootcamp Series.

​

Family Law Fridays became a way to provide ongoing, focused training on the many individual issues family law professionals encounter throughout the life of a case.

​

The classes allowed me to go deeper into specific topics that could never be fully covered in a single Bootcamp, including case management, professional communications, billing, pleadings, custody, child support, financials, discovery, motions, hearings, mediation, trial preparation, and many other areas of Georgia family law practice.

​

And, as usual, one training led to another.

​

Every time I saw a recurring question, a procedural problem, or an area where professionals needed more guidance, I developed another class, form, workflow, checklist, or resource to address it.

​

What began as periodic training was gradually becoming something much larger.

​

2026: The Family Law Solutions Training Library

​

By 2026, I finally stopped and looked at everything that had been created.

​

One Family Law Bootcamp had grown into four comprehensive Bootcamps.

​

Family Law Fridays had expanded the curriculum into dozens of focused trainings.

​

Years of procedures, forms, workflows, checklists, drafting examples, and practical guidance had developed into a comprehensive 600-page Family Law Solutions Training Manual.

​

And nearly 50 individual trainings were now available across virtually every stage of a Georgia family law case.

​

At that point, I realized I had not simply created a collection of classes.

​

I had built a training library.

​

That realization became the Family Law Solutions Training Library, a growing, on-demand resource designed to give attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and law firms access to practical Georgia family law training whenever they need it.

​

What started with one Family Law Bootcamp had become the comprehensive training resource I had been building, piece by piece, for years.

​

And We're Still Building

​

The philosophy behind Family Law Solutions has remained remarkably simple:

 

I see a need, and I build something to fill it.

​

     - A firm needs better systems? We build workflows.
     - A new employee needs training? We build the curriculum.
     - Professionals need ongoing education? We build the Training Library.
     - Attorneys need someone they can call when they get stuck? We build FLS Direct.
     - Firms need help getting the actual work done? We develop support services.

 

Family Law Solutions continues to evolve because the practice of family law continues to evolve, and because I am constantly listening to the professionals doing the work and asking one question:

Then I try to build it.
